Binge Worthy TV Shows I Watched During Quarantine

So now that we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with this virus, I have a feeling that we will quickly be in quarantine again very soon. So here are some of my favorite Netflix/Hulu/HBO TV series and more from the first round of quarantine.

The Politician

The Politician is probably one of the less well-known shows on this list… but it is GOOD! Ryan and I binged 2 seasons in just a few days. It’s about a high-schooler (Ben Platt, who is incredible) and his road to becoming the President of the United States. It is funny, dramatic, and has some huge names like: Zoe Deutch, Gwyneth Paltrow, Lucy Boynton, Bette Midler and more. It will definitely get you hooked a couple episodes in.

13 Reasons Why

This Netflix show is obviously very popular, but many people stopped watching after the 1st or 2nd season. If you enjoyed watching any season of this show, you need to watch all 4 seasons of this drama. It doesn’t dull out in my opinion, all of the seasons get you equally hooked for different reasons. I know this can be a controversial show, but I think it’s so important to help normalizing mental health issues.

This show has 4 seasons on Netflix.

New Girl

This is by far my favorite show on Netflix. This is also the cutest and funniest show that I’ve seen. It is such a fun sitcom and my friends always had recommended it and I finally watched it in about 5 months. If you like rom coms or shows like The Office and Parks and Rec, you will love this show. If there is any show you watch on this list, make it this one.

There are 7 seasons of this show on Netflix

Insatiable

This twisted revenge comedy with Debby Ryan sadly got cancelled, but you need to watch the two seasons that there are. If you like over-the-top dramas this is for you. It’s funny, grabs your attention quick and makes you love the villain. Definitely a must-watch on Netflix and I have no clue why it was cancelled. But that is a tragedy.

There are 2 seasons of this show on Netflix.

Jack Ryan

I binged the first season of this action show in 1 day, 8 straight hours of Jack Ryan. I am typically not a fan of action shows, but that is how good it is! It’s an action-packed show with the hilarious John Krasinski, who couldn’t love this show? I haven’t seen Season 2, but I will be binging that one soon as well!

There are 2 seasons of this show on Amazon Prime.

The Outsider

This is for anyone that loves more dark shows. I’m typically not the biggest fan of dark shows (literally dark shows that I can’t see well, haha), but I loved this one. It’s a short season based off of a Steven King novel. It’s creepy, it’s a murder mystery that has a lot of twists and turns and of course, this is fictional. This one is a great one for the murder mystery lovers.

There is 1 season of this show on HBO.

Glee

This was a popular show on the time that it was on air on TV, and it is definitely one of my favorites. I watched it on air all of those years ago, but re-watched it this year and it was like I watched it for the first time. This is a great show for all ages, it teaches great lessons, and if you love musical shows, this one is for you. Of course, there are plenty of sad episodes, especially how the show has aged with everything that has happened with the actors since the show, so be prepared to cry, as well as laugh and sing. I highly recommend this one.

There are 6 seasons of this show on Netflix.

Married at First Sight

Now for some reality TV, my favorite category! So the title speaks for itself… two people really get married at first sight! But it isn’t random, love experts pair 4 couples to get married, and the couples have 8 weeks after their marriage to decide if they want to get a divorce or not. And surprisingly, a lot of them stay together and stay married! It’s a super cute and obviously dramatic show!

There are 9 seasons of this show on Netflix.

Tiger King

This, of course, was just about the show of the year during quarantine! I’m not always into doc-series very much, but this one was incredibly interesting, because you really get to see how insane people can be! If you haven’t watched it because it’s “too mainstream,” now that the hype is over, and it’s worth the watch!

There is 1 season on Netflix.

Avatar the Last Airbender

This is the only animated series on here, because it is so good. I actually hated this show as a kid, but Ryan loved it, so of course we rewatched it and… I loved it. This isn’t by any means a kid’s show. If you like animated movies, you need to watch this action-packed animated series!

There are 3 seasons of this show on Netflix.

Too Hot To Handle

This was also a very popular show, and this is definitely a more mature audience. It was super enjoyable to watch, because it is a love show with a cash prize… a competition reality love show! It puts a fun spin on a typical reality show about finding love, but spoiler alert… not very many couples actually found love…

This show has 1 season on Netflix.

Outerbanks

Another incredibly popular show. This teen-drama will appeal to everyone. It’s about a boy trying to find his father and complete his mission to find hidden treasure. It of course is FILLED with teen romance, drama, mystery and more! I binged 8 episodes in a day! Also, if you don’t understand the Outerbanks TikTok memes, you need to go catch up on the trends!

This show has 1 season on Netflix.

The End Of The F***ing World

This is another more mature show. It is also a lot more psychological than most shows. Ryan wasn’t a huge fan of this one, but I LOVED it. I love shows that have murder mysteries and twists and turns all of the time. If you like dark-typed shows, this is for you, also it is super easy to binge one season in one day.

There are 2 seasons of this show on Netflix.

Riverdale

This is, of course, an incredibly well-known show, but it had to make the cut. I’m pretty sure I binged the first season on Netflix in a day, but since then I have been watching on The CW. This popular teen drama based on the Archie Comics is SUPER dark, but is so easy to get hooked to!

There are 4 seasons of this show on Netflix.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

This show is super cute and funny! It is about a female comedian and her life in the 1950s. It has won a ton of Emmy’s and awards

Selling Sunset

So I have just started watching this reality show about realtors! I was hooked after the first episode. Also I LOVE looking at houses, and this group of women are selling houses that are an upward of $40,000,000!! They are super catty of course and share all of their personal lives and all of the gossip and cattiness is very apparent!

There are 2 seasons of this show on Netflix!

The Rookie

My whole family has been a Nathan Fillion fan for years, so we were ecstatic to watch him in a new cop show. He plays a 40+ year old as a brand new rookie cop. The show is hilarious and action-packed while still telling stories about all of the cops’ personal lives. It’s a must-watch.

There are 2 seasons of this show on Hulu.

Everything Sucks

If you liked Freaks and Geeks, you’ll love this show. It is extremely similar, it just seems like the kids are younger. And sadly, like Freaks and Geeks, this show got cancelled after one season. It’s a fun show about romances, extra curriculars, and everything else that comes with high school!

There is one season of this show on Netflix.

Never Have I Ever

This was surprisingly a great show. I thought it would be super cheesy, another show about high schoolers, but I LOVED it! These girls that are considered to be nerds and losers at the school are on the hunt to lose their virginity. It’s super funny and there are a lot more twists and turns than expected!

There is 1 season of this show on Netflix.

Jane the Virgin

This is a MUST WATCH! If you haven’t watched this show yet, go do it… right now. It’s basically a modern day soap opera with all of the drama, plot twists, romance, murders and more. It is such a cute show. Go start it now.

There are 5 seasons of this show on Netflix.

Love is Blind

Lastly, the show we all started quarantine with… Love is Blind. I think this is such a great reality show to find someone without seeing their face. Of course, getting engaged before you see someone’s face is slightly extreme, but it seems to have worked for multiple couples on this show.

There is 1 season of this show on Netflix.
