Canvas Wall Art

In this post I’m going to show you the three canvas pieces that I have on my wall that I have made from scratch! Starting with the top piece:

These canvases are 5 x 7. I absolutely LOVE the worship band Hillsong, and one of my favorite songs of theirs is “So Will I”, which is where these lyrics are from. If you haven’t heard the song before, go listen to it right now!

I thought the galaxy theme would look really pretty, so I used a mix of navy blue, black, and purple and painted the base navy blue, then I went over with strokes of black and purple to make it have the galaxy theme! Then when I debated on what type of lettering, I decided that I wanted it to look authentic and real rather than printed, since this song means so much to me! So only with a typical small-ish paintbrush I did the typical script handwriting. Then I added the stars with the same brush creating different sized dots all around until I decided I was done! I love the split canvas look and it looks really nice in any modern themed room!

Next is the “start each day with a grateful heart” piece that I totally created and altered from a Pinterest post I saw!

Here’s their link: Start Each Day with a Grateful Heart

This was the 3rd painting that I painted on this same 6×12 canvas! I couldn’t paint something I liked, but you can always try again and start off with a fresh background with paints on canvases! My favorite color is pink, so I used all my pink paints, and white, then went to town by making messy strokes! It turned out really pretty! I sketched the daisy with color pencil before I painted it! For the font, I was going for a modified version of the post I saw and I absolutely love teal blue with pink!

Then the last painting I have is the my “love” piece:

So lets start with the 6×12 canvas, these colors look a little dark and gloomy, but it looks much brighter in person! I used orange, teal, pink, and purple and just did stokes on strokes one color at a time while the paint was all still wet! After it was dry I had a crazy idea to put my neon love sign on it! I got my neon love sign (that runs on AA Batteries) at 5 below for $5!! I can’t find it on their website but it was in their store just last month! Here’s the link to buy it on amazon for $10, its worth it, it’s so bright and cute:

To mound the sign on the canvas I just used Command Strips! I cut the velcro command strips so they wouldn’t show, then just stuck them right on!

If you have any further questions of how to create any sort of painting in this stroke style contact me!

I get my canvases from Dollar Tree or my larger ones from Walmart! Also to mount them on the wall I use one command strip each!
